UK production figures show Nissan increase
Nissan has announced a rise in the number of vehicles it produced over the course of December.The firm comments that some 24,753 units were put together at its UK plant during the month, representing an increase of 32.5 per cent on the previous year.
Worldwide production figures went up by 15.5 per cent to 274,661 - a December record.
According to the Japanese manufacturer, the rise in production can be attributed to the release and subsequent consumer demand of vehicles like the Qashqai.
It said: "New products such as the X-Trail, Rogue and Infiniti EX contributed to increased production at plants in Japan. Total domestic production grew 18.1 per cent to 114,428 units compared to the previous year."
The company was originally established in Chuo-ku in Tokyo in 1932 and can count the Nissan Micra, Sunny and Skyline vehicles amount its most well-known in Europe.
