Survey reveals most reliable used cars
The Nissan Micra, Ford Ka and Vauxhall Corsa have been revealed as some of the most reliable used cars in the UK.Research by Warranty Direct placed all three vehicles in the top ten most dependable models on the road.
Other vehicles praised for their reliability included the Toyota Yaris and Honda Jazz.
The study found motorists who buy less dependable vehicles could be looking at repair bills almost five times the amount of drivers who had chosen one of their top-placed models.
Duncan McClure Fisher from Warranty Direct said: "The cost of parts and labour on some models is shocking and really comes into play once a car leaves the protection of its manufacturer warranty."
Overall, it was revealed drivers of used cars aged four to eight years old in Britain were shelling out £4 billion annually on repairs.
Meanwhile, Warranty Direct recently reported sales of extended warranties were on the up as a result of the current economic downturn.
