Nissan's operating profit rises
Nissan has seen its global sales revenue rise during the first half of fiscal year 2007.The company has revealed that its operating profits went up by 11.7 per cent over the period, with the firm raking in close to £900 million.
Some 1.816 million Nissan units were driven out of dealerships worldwide over the first six months of the financial term, representing a hike on 2006 of 6.3 per cent.
Carlos Ghosn, chief executive officer and company president, commented that when it comes to achieving sustainable growth, the automaker is "back on track".
In addition, Mr Ghosn commented that there will be "many further exciting products to come", on top of the seven ranges already launched in 2007.
Meanwhile, Mirror motor expert and television personality Richard Hammond has claimed the new Nissan GT-R sports car has the edge over Porsche in a review of the model.
He told the website: "It has the same power as a Porsche 911 Turbo and, on paper, is a bit quicker. Oh, and it is £37,000 cheaper than the Porsche."
