Nissan Qashqai moves into top ten

The Nissan Qashqai has made it into the top ten of the UK's best-selling cars, it has been revealed.

According to the manufacturer, the fact the vehicle has finished above some of its mainstream competitors is testament to its style, value and practicality.

The model achieved ninth place overall - selling some 2,629 units in May.

In addition to this, the car increased its market share by 4.09 per cent.

Paul Willcox, managing director of Nissan in the UK, said the firm was delighted with the Qashqai's performance.

"We know its one of the strongest models on sale in the UK - and this result is proof that the car-buying public agrees," he added.

The manufacturer also pointed out that the fact the vehicle is assembled in Sunderland is good news for the British automotive production industry.

In other news, Nissan recently announced it was offering a £2,000 trade-in deal against any of its UK-built models for people with cars aged between eight and ten years old.
