Nissan hits 100,000 sales point
The number of Nissan Qashqai vehicles sold in Europe has reached 100,000, the motor manufacturer has announced.According to the firm, consumers on the continent believe that the car brings something new to the market.
Sales figures show that its three biggest markets were the UK, Russia and Italy, where 17,554, 15,376 and 10,746 vehicles were sold respectively in November.
It added that production for the vehicle had to be increased by 20 per cent in June as demand grew.
"Nissan Europe's product planners identified an opportunity in the market to design and develop a vehicle which provided more dynamic design, without the perceived aggression of a compact SUV," said the firm.
This comes as Nissan has reportedly suspended its activity in North American motorsports over the course of 2008.
Jalopnik states that the firm will not be taking part in races or meets at any point in the year.
