Nissan announces LCV growth plans

Major vehicle manufacturer Nissan has announced plans to expand its range of Light Commercial Vehicles (LCV).

The company will release 13 new products, including a small van based on the LV200 Concept seen last year at the Tokyo Motor Show, which will be available in the European market in a year or so. The new van will aim to cut costs without sacrificing quality, while it will also offer convenience and more storage space.

Andy Palmer, corporate vice president of Nissan's LCV Business Unit, said: "We aim to expand our business much further with smart new products and services that meet the needs of our customers, both in Europe and around the world."

Nissan also revealed a new Cabstar, specifically designed for inner city travel. The vehicle has no clutch pedal, in a move designed to reduce wear and tear and by extension cut down on running costs.

In other news, the Nissan 350Z has been declared best sports car in the used car awards organised by What Car?
