Race Retro to pay tribute to Mini
Mini enthusiasts may want to make time in their diaries for Race Retro 2009, after organisers announced they would be paying tribute to the manufacturer's racing prowess.Visitors who attend the event at Stoneleigh Park will be able to view the model which was victorious in the 1967 Monte Carlo Rally.
Rauno Aaltonen - who was behind the wheel of the winning entry - will also be at the show.
The racing legend is due to take his 1964 Monte Carlo Rally Mini Cooper S round a few laps of the track, as well as demonstrating the capabilities of an Aston Martin V8GT.
Scheduled to take place between March 13th and 15th, the show is focusing on Mini's achievements to mark the manufacturer's 50th anniversary.
Advance one-day tickets for the event cost between £15 and £20.
In addition on the Mini tribute, visitors will also get the opportunity to watch a team of mechanical experts as they attempt to restore a mid-1940s Allard L-Type.
