Motor enthusiasts invited to vote for best-ever racing car

Readers of a motoring magazine are being asked to vote for the world's greatest ever racing car.

Octane magazine is also inviting legends of the track to offer their opinions.

Sir Stirling Moss, Damon Hill, Derek Bell, Brian Redman, Andy Wallace and Bobby Rahal are among the famous names who will reveal their choice for the number one racing car of all time.

However, whether they drive a MG, a Mini or a Mazda, the magazine is also keen to get the opinions of its 33,000 readers and 100,000 website visitors.

Managing editor of Octane David Lillywhite said: "There has been a huge debate over the years as to which car would ultimately be nominated for this accolade, but no one has ever put it to the test."

In other news, the magazine recently reported it had assembled the largest number of genuine 007 cars ever photographed in one location to celebrate release of the latest James Bond film Quantum of Solace.
