Mazda UK plans autumn test drive events
Mazda Motors UK has announced it plans a series of test drive events this autumn, permitting prospective owners to get a better feel for its range. This autumn potential buyers will be invited to a series of driver-training days where they can test drive Mazda's high-end models.
Intended to raise Mazda's brand awareness, the Japanese firm also hopes the driver training days will encourage the consideration of its models by its main target group, which it claims is not unduly influenced by advertising.
The initiative will be supported by an advertising and direct marketing campaign to publicise the events among high-end drivers.
Meanwhile, Mazda is also running a promotion on BBC's Top Gear to entrench the X-5's masculine positioning.
However, this should not be too difficult given the MX-5's performance characteristics and style.
The MX-5 Roadster Coupe comes with three model types to choose from, which are the 2.0i Sport, the 2.0i Sport with BOSE and the 2.0i Option Pack with leather, with the choice of six colour schemes.
It also features either 16-inch 5-spoke or 17-inch 10-spoke alloy wheels, depending on the model, giving the MX-5 a truly premium style.
Priced at £18,210 on-the-road for the basic model, this represents a £1,200 premium on the soft-top version to accommodate additional features.
