A trip to a Mazda dealership could prevent a breakdown

Motorists looking for an auto that is unlikely to break down may want to pay a visit to their local Mazda dealership.

According to Warranty Direct's Manufacturer Reliability Index, the Japanese carmaker produces some of the most dependable vehicles on the road.

The report placed the company's cars in second position in terms of being able to keep going without developing faults, with Honda's range of autos scooping top spot.

Warranty Direct considered a total of 250 models built by some 30 different manufacturers and managing director Duncan McClure Fisher suggested more firms should focus on increasing their vehicles' dependability.

"Perhaps buyers should canvass for health warning stickers in the same way the industry has adopted low emissions tax band grading. Maybe that’ll incentivise improved reliability and quality,” he stated.

Earlier this month, Mazda came out on top in the automotive category for the UK Customer Satisfaction Index from the Institute of Customer Service.
