Mazda MX-5 gets sporty
Mazda has made its MX-5 range a little sportier with the introduction of the new Roadster Coupe. The new model features a folding roof, which unlike a number of other rival cars, folds away behind the rear seats and allows the vehicle to make room for as much as 150 litres of bootspace.
With a number of cars in the same bracket as the Mazda MX-5 Roadster Coupe, folding away the roof can take upwards of 20 seconds and the Mazda roof is out of the way in as little as 12 seconds, reports Channel 4.
Sensibly Mazda has not given the new car the capacity to take the roof down while in motion, citing the fact that in the interests of safety a driver's attention ought to be on the road at all times.
Mazda launched its very first coupe, the two-door R360, in 1960 and the following year the company's production levels topped one million for the first time.
