Mazda MX-5 breaks UK sales record
Sales of the Mazda MX-5 hit an all-time monthly high, according to the latest figures.Statistics from the Japanese automaker confirm that 1,973 MX-5s were sold in the UK during the course of March 2007 - more than ever before.
This figure includes both soft top and roadster coupe variants.
Meanwhile, the company also announced that it sold 2,944 models in the Mazda6 range last month.
Rob Lindley, managing director at Mazda UK, has commented on the figures.
"We hit the numbers we needed to in a tough retail market," he said.
Last month, the residual value of the Mazda6 was praised in an independent automotive review.
Following a study by car industry trend analyst CAP Motor Research, it was announced that the model retains 30 per cent of its original value after 60,000 miles or three years on the road.
The resale figure relates to the five-door two-litre version of the Mazda6.
