Mazda launches 'all-year sports car'

Mazda has announced that it is to launch a new convertible car at the beginning of the new year.

The automaker's MX-5 Niseko will be available at dealerships from January 1st as a 1.8 litre soft-top model and a two litre roadster coupe.

According to the manufacturer, the new range has been designed to cope with all kinds of weather for 12 months of the year, hence the inclusion of its advanced heating and air conditioning systems.

Mark Cameron, UK marketing director at Mazda, commented: "Mazda MX-5 customers have traditionally given a warm welcome to each new 'special edition' model introduced during our roadster's 18-year history."

Motorists will be able to acquire the 1.8 litre version for £17,995, while the 2.0 litre model will retail for £19,995.

Both cars include features such as 17-inch alloy wheels, special edition "Niseko" badging and heated leather seats.

Meanwhile, Easier has reported that Mazda's UK division has sold more cars than it did throughout the whole of 2006 during the year to date.
