Mazda6 resale value recognised

The five-door 2-litre Mazda6 has been independently praised for having strong resale values, fleet managers may like to know.

According to analysis by automotive intelligence provider Cap Motor Research, the model has a recommended retail value of £15,422 when new and, after three years and 60,000 miles, is worth £4,650 - approximately 30 per cent of the original outlay.

As with other vehicles in the Mazda6 range, the model includes remote central locking, front and rear electric vehicles, six airbags, 16-ins allys and manual air conditioning as standard.

Simon Harris, consumer editor at Parker's, an automotive guide, explained what attributes he believed were helping the model to retain popularity among car buyers.

"A combination of excellent equipment levels, rewarding driving dynamics, good build quality and a spacious interior mean used car customers recognise the strength of the overall package," he said.

Earlier this week, Mazda announced that the Sports Aero kit for the Mazda3 MPS, which includes an enhanced rear spoiler and lowered suspension, will be available fully-fitted for £500.
