Mazda 'defies economic downturn'
Mazda has reported it continues to perform well in many parts of Europe despite the tough trading conditions.It revealed the firm managed to increase its passenger car market share across the continent and in a number of individual countries as well during February.
The proportion of this sector the company claimed throughout the whole of Europe last month increased by 0.3 per cent, compared with the same time period in 2008.
Meanwhile, its market share in the UK rose 2.4 per cent.
The group also enjoyed improved results in Spain, Turkey and Poland.
It pointed out it had performed particularly well in Germany, where government initiatives have encouraged consumers back into Mazda dealerships across the country.
The manufacturer also said it achieved record sales volumes in Slovenia, Belarus and Algeria.
In other news, the Mazda6 and MX-5 were recently named by Which? Car magazine as being a great choice for cost-conscious motorists.
