Revamped Mazda3 range 'helped carmaker post record sales in 2006'
Mazda car dealerships across the UK have reaped the benefits of the Mazda3 range's success, according to one expert.In 2006, Mazda sold more than 50,000 vehicles for the first time in the UK - propelling it to a 2.1 per cent share of the total market, reports Easier.
The figure represents a 7.2 per cent rise over sales for the previous year, which Rob Lindley, managing director of Mazda Motors UK, attributed in part to the Mazda3 vehicles.
"During 2006 the introduction of the upgraded Mazda3 range, plus full availability of the new Mazda MX-5 and Mazda5 models launched in 2005 boosted our brand’s appeal and helped us to out-perform the market trend in a big way," he remarked.
Earlier this month, Mazda announced that internet users would now be able to get an inside look at the Hiroshima design centre and learn more about the company's history, after a new online museum was launched.
