Mazda3 MPS promises range-topping performance
For those drivers looking for a racy sports vehicle that punches above its weight, the car manufacturer Mazda has announced a range-topping Mazda-3 model.Coming onsale in the UK next February, the Mazda 3 MPS can reputedly reach a top speed of 155 mph, making it the fastest car in the series.
Away from performance, the design of the super-hatch continues the racing theme with MPS-branded sports seats and 18-inch diameter aluminium alloy wheels.
Mark Cameron, marketing director of Mazda UK, said that he hoped the sporty new model would encourage a wider cross-section of motorists to put their faith in the automaker.
"The Mazda3 MPS takes our brand's Zoom-Zoom philosophy beyond our sportscars and applies that same spirit and performance to a model which has appeal to a much broader audience," Mr Cameron said.
"The Mazda3 has always been praised for its driving dynamics, handling and road holding and clearly has a chassis that can handle more power."
Founded in Japan in 1920, Mazda has since gone on to become a global automotive manufacturer.
The MPS brand, known as MazdaSpeed in the US, incorporates many of its high-performance cars.
