Mazda 'feeling positive despite economic downturn'
People are still buying vehicles from their local Mazda dealerships, despite the economic downturn, the manufacturer has claimed.It pointed out it has achieved its best start to a year ever in terms of market share in 2009.
During the last quarter, the company took 3.1 per cent of the retail sector, compared to the same period in 2008.
It added the imminent launch of the Mazda3 and the recent release of the new MX-5 are two other great reasons for the firm's bosses to be smiling.
Managing director Jeremy Thompson said: "We've bucked the trend of gloom and despair that you can see throughout the industry at the moment."
He claimed the group's success is partly the result of its attitude and determination to exploit every opportunity.
In other news, the manufacturer recently revealed prices for the Mazda3 will range between £13,500 and £20,500.
The car is due to arrive in showrooms next month.
