Mazda boasts impressive Scottish sales
Sales of the Mazda3 and Mazda6 have boosted the car manufacturer's Scottish sales in the first quarter of 2007.The first part of the year has seen record sales for Mazda's 18 Scottish dealers, making it one of the top-ten best sellers in Scotland.
Sales director Jeremy Thomson said Mazda is now above BMW and Audi, while it is only 300 sales behind Citroen.
"The Mazda3 and Mazda6 have continued to be the top sellers and we have been helped along by some limited edition models," he added.
Andrew Marshall, group franchise manager for various branches in Scotland, said Mazda has achieved a key success factor, which is "getting the product and the pricing right".
He also highlighted strong sales of the Mazda3 and Mazda6 and said there is a strong demand for the MX-5 as well.
"The past 16 months have been remarkable and we are really looking forward to getting the new Mazda2," he concluded.
The new Mazda2 will feature a new "dynamic, attention-grabbing" exterior and interior.
According to the manufacturer, the main features of the revamped model will include excellent driving performance as well as agile and stable handling and exceptional quietness.
