Mazda2 previewed by car magazine
The revamped Mazda2 has been previewed by an automotive publication, which has suggested that the model could prove popular among UK buyers.Although the new Mazda2 is not expected to arrive in Mazda car dealerships before the end of the year, the model is set to be officially unveiled at the Geneva motor show in March 2007 and What Car? magazine has told readers what to expect.
Claiming that the model will go on sale for approximately £9,000, the preview describes the car as "stylish" and a "great-looking supermini".
Moreover, it is suggested that the model could prove to be an important part of the Japanese automaker's UK strategy, potentially meaning that used car parts will be relatively easy to find.
"Mazda is expecting the new 2 to give the company a real shot in the arm," the publication stated.
Earlier this month, the Japanese car maker announced record profits of 14.9 billion yen (£60 million) in the quarter ending December 2006.
To put this into context for car owners, this represents a 46 per cent rise on profits made in the previous quarter.
