Land Rover Freelander 2 scoops prize
Land Rover's Freelander 2 vehicle has won an award in Scotland.The prize, which is likely to be good news for Land Rover car dealerships and the manufacturer alike, is the title of Scottish Sports Utility Vehicle of the Year.
Judges at the Association of Scottish Motoring Writers annual awards saw the car as a better all-round option than its competitors, a factor which is espoused by officials at Land Rover.
John Edwards, the managing director of the firm's UK arm, commented: "It is yet another testament to its dynamic design, all-round capability and its smart and spacious interior package."
He added that the company has performed well in Scotland, with a 21 per cent rise in sales having been recorded since the beginning of 2007.
The Freelander 2 can be purchased from Land Rover car dealerships with a choice between a 3.2-litre i6 petrol and 2.2-litre TD4 diesel engines.
