Land Rover Discovery 3 awarded to animal charity
Land Rover has donated a 4x4 to a charity dedicated to animal welfare issues as it looks to enhance its public image, motorists may be interested to know.The Land Rover Discovery 3, built at the company's factory in Solihull, was officially handed over to the Born Free Foundation to protect animals both in the UK and on the continent.
Commenting after the handover, Will Travers, chief executive of the Born Free Foundation, explained that the model would come in handy when attempting to rescue threatened animals.
"This important vehicle will enable us to carry out important frontline conservation and animal welfare missions at will," he said.
Meanwhile, Phil Popham, managing director of Land Rover, said he was "delighted" that the automaker was able to support the foundation by presenting it with a Discovery 3.
As eco-minded motorists may already be aware, the British automaker already offers partial emissions offsetting on all new vehicles in a bid to reduce its carbon footprint.
