Land Rover confirms it will assist local authorities during cold snap

Land Rover has confirmed it will offer the services of dozens of its vehicles if required by local authorities, in news that highlights the durability of the 4x4 brand.

With heavy snow expected to fall across various parts of the UK this week, the British company has announced that 100 of its vehicles will be put at the beck and call of emergency services such as local police divisions and highway patrols.

The off-roaders will assist in taking home motorists who have been caught up in an accident and towing vehicles out of dangerous situations where necessary.

John Edwards, Land Rover UK's managing director, underlined that this would not be the first time that it has helped stranded motorists during particularly difficult weather conditions.

"Year after year, Land Rover has assisted local authorities in severe weather and emergency situations," he said.

"We've assured them that our vehicles will once again be available should they need them."

Land Rover car dealerships in the UK currently offer a range of 4x4s, including the Discovery, the Range Rover and the new second-generation Freelander.
