The green credentials of Land Rover have now been recognised by a member of parliament, car buyers may be interested to know.Ian Pearson, minister of state for climate change and the environment, has made his comments after a visit to Land Rover's design and engineering facility in Gaydon.
As well as test-driving a prototype of the new Discovery TDV6 prototype, Mr Pearson also reviewed the details of the automaker's offsetting programme, which offsets all CO2 emissions created during new vehicle production.
"It is good to see the progress being made by Land Rover," commented Mr Pearson.
"I've been impressed by the level of commitment and financial investment to improve the environmental performance of its cars."
Earlier this month, Land Rover reaffirmed its commitment towards green issues by agreeing a new sponsorship deal with Earthwatch.
To kick off the partnership, Land Rover has already donated a Defender vehicle to the ecological research organisation.
