UK is our number one euro market, says Kia

Kia Motors is enjoying its best success in Europe in the UK market, according to new statistics released by the company.

The South Korean automobile manufacturer has delivered 20,550 new vehicles so far in Britain over the course of 2008, a figure which is some 3,000 units ahead of closest European rival Germany.

It added that during July there were 2,316 UK drivers who picked up its vehicles, with Kia Motors UK managing director Paul Philpott hinting that the best is yet to come in the coming year - despite the credit crunch.

"The Kia brand is not resting on its laurels and is committed to giving people fun and quality cars that stand out in today's difficult economic climate," said the official.

Kia is the second-largest automobile manufacturer in South Korea and is also a major subsidiary of the Hyundai Kia Automotive Group.
