Soul 'developed with UK drivers in mind'
Kia's latest model has been developed with British drivers in mind, according to the company. The Soul has been subjected to secret testing in the UK, while Norfolk-based automotive consultancy firm Lotus worked "to create a bespoke ride and handling package" to take into account the effect British roads will have on bump stops and suspension settings.
Paul Philpott, managing director of Kia Motors UK, said the collaboration with Lotus has produced "a more composed ride which we think is much more suitable to what our roads can throw at Soul".
It is also an exciting car with a unique style, he added, which is expected to attract drivers who have not previously considered a Kia. It will be on sale in the UK from March.
The Soul's launch follows Kia's announcement of an 8.4 per cent year-on-year increase in global sales in 2008. Passenger car sales saw an 11.7 per cent rise.
