Kia car launch sees commitment made to family-friendliness
More than half of parents describe the experience of driving their kids around as barely tolerable, according to research conducted by the automaker Kia at the launch of its new Carens model. The South Korean manufacturer has found that 56 per cent of motorists dislike car trips involving their children, as the company expresses an ambition to design more family-friendly cars.
According to the survey, 77 per cent of parents say that their kids have complained about the journey length, while 20 per cent struggle with travel sickness and 17 per cent take issue with the lack of seating space.
Stephen Kitson, communications director at Kia Motors UK, affirmed the manufacturer's commitment to designing vehicles like the Carens that try and reduce the potential for in-car tension.
"By understanding the importance of aspects like space and comfort, we can go some way to creating the safest and happiest driving experience possible," he said.
The world headquarters of Kia are located in the city of Seoul, South Korea.
