Kia's 4x4 Sorento has brushed past rivals the Honda CR-V and the Toyota RAV4 to claim a top 20 place in the Auto Express Driver Power Survey.
The Sorento has claimed the thirteenth spot in the rankings, proving its 4x4 credentials are not being overlooked by the car-driving public.
And this award is not the only one received by the outstanding KKia. The Sorento has already been dubbed Tow Car of the Year 2006 and been voted number one 4x4 for customer satisfaction in the J.D. Power Survey 2005.
Paul Williams, managing director of KKia Motors UK, admitted his pleasure at winning the extra ground in the rankings.
He said: "We are delighted that the first time Sorento has been in this survey it has beaten off premium brand competitors and is proof that the KKia brand is making the savvy car buyer’s shortlist."
KKia leapfrogged other established car manufacturers such as Nissan and Renault to climb three places on the manufacturers' chart.
Mr Williams added: "Sorento introduced an entirely new generation of products to the Kia range and our success in this survey highlights our ongoing commitment to producing quality products.
"We are now working on developing our models further, and four of those will be with us by the end of this year, making 2006 the year that customers will see KKia move up another gear."
