Strong demand for the Kia Sorento and other top-selling brands has helped the South Korean automaker post record October sales figures.
Over the course of last month, the company sold a total of 23,252 vehicles in the European marketplace, which is a record figure for the month, reports Easier.
And the Sorento sports utility vehicle proved to be the second most popular car among European buyers with 3,626 sales - topping the list is the Picanto city car with 6,489 sales.
The latest figures reflect the fact that the car manufacturer has recently introduced a range of new models, including an upgraded version of the popular Sorento.
"We have launched a number of new models during 2006 and these models are now reaching our showrooms in good numbers, as the October sales results confirm," said Jean-Charles Lievens, senior vice president of KKia Motors Europe.
"The KKia brand is entering a new and exciting phase in its development."
The Sorento shares its name with an Italian town on the western tip of the Amalfi Coast, which has a scenic but torturous cliff-top road featured in several TV car adverts.
