Kia Sorrento buyers alerted to strong demand for SUVs
People who are considering the purchase of a sports utility vehicle (SUV) such as the Kia Sorrento have been reassured that demand for the vehicle type remains strong, which could potentially help motorists negotiate a high sell-on figure.According to a study by automotive industry research group EurotaxGlass's, 51,667 new prestige SUVs were sold in the 11 months to December 2006.
To put this figure into context, the company claims that this is a seven per cent increase on demand over the same period of 2005 and a 20 per cent rise over 2004's figures.
Richard Crosthwaite, prestige car editor at EurotaxGlass's, explained the significance of the research.
"Dealerships have not been reporting any meaningful drop-off in demand for prestige SUVs with sales of new and used examples currently in line with what we saw at the same point last year," he said.
The Sorrento is a compact SUV that was originally launched in 2003.
It is currently available at Kia car dealerships up and down the UK.
