Motorists get sneak peak of Kia's successor to Picanto
Automotive reviewers have gained a sneak peek of the successor to the Kia Picanto supermini.Although still in the development stages, the new Kia Picanto is believed to be based around minor tinkering rather than wholesale changes, reports Autocar website.
Consequently, the forthcoming model is expected to include reworked version of the one-litre and 1.1-litre models that are available on the current Picanto range.
However, the preview has also raised the possibility of a more radical development.
It is suggested that the South Korean manufacturer is considering the introduction of a range-topping mini-GTI version as well, which could be of interest to people looking for a racy drive.
However, the prototype is not yet in full production and may not arrive in Kia car dealerships before late 2007.
Nevertheless, Kia enthusiasts can already buy vehicles from the current Picanto range.
The five-door supermini features anti-lock braking systems and power steering as standard on all specifications.
