KKia unveiled the latest incarnation of its Carens compact MPV, designed for and catering to a specifically European audience.
Two versions of the new model are to be offered - a five seat and a seven seat option. Both versions feature the 'European specific' twin-chrome-bar grille, frontal styling, lower centre air-intake and front bumper with inset air-intakes or fog lamps.
KKia said that the Carens compact MPV, which stand at just over 4.5 metres long, was developed in response to customer demand for a compact vehicle within the MPV sector to cater for active lifestyle families.
As a result, the Carens has been totally redesigned, with only the name having been retained. The new model is longer, wider and taller than previous models, meaning the interior space is more comfortable and accommodating.
Paul Williams, managing director, KKia Motors UK, said: "With new Carens we are presenting consumers with a surprisingly spacious yet compact MPV. Our KKia teams on several continents designed the new Carens to surpass the escalating expectations of KKia customers.
"They have created a truly competitive vehicle that is more stylish and more practical, and will complement modern families’ lifestyles."
The Carens comes with a choice of one 2.0-litre diesel engine and one 2.0-litre petrol engine with either manual gearboxes or automatic transmissions.
Furthermore, Seat said the the new Carens' longer wheelbases, wider track and stiffer bodyshell have all made considerable improvements to the cars agility, handling and safety.
