Jaguar XKR Coupe in "select aristocracy of lightweight supercars"
Jaguar's new XKR Coupe has come in for glowing praise over its many attractive features, both aesthetic and technical.Writing in New Car Net, Graham Whyte described the vehicle as creating a mixture of "envy, awe and admiration" for its sleek appearance.
He then says it is the "aluminium monocoque body", that puts the car into a select aristocracy of lightweight supercars.
Other features praised include the 4.2-litre engine, with "one supercharger, two air intakes, four camshafts, five main bearings, eight cylinders and 32 valves", plus the ability to achieve 0-60 mph in under five seconds.
According to Jaguar, the vehicle also has touch-screen satellite navigation, a driver information centre, a Bluetooth telephone system and in-car entertainment.
Graham Whyte describes the car as being a dual-purpose vehicle, varying between "serious performance" and being a pleasant cruising vehicle for "Miss Daisy".
The XKR is priced from £67,495.
