The Jaguar S-Type was among four UK built cars that topped a list of the most satisfying models to drive.
Honda Civic, Toyota Avensis, Toyota Corolla and Jaguar S-Type were the four UK built cars that came in the top ten, voted for by car owners in a customer satisfaction index from marketing information services company JD Power and What Car? magazine.
What Car? editor David Motton, said: "The British motor industry is still building great cars.
"Brands like Honda, Jaguar, Mini and Toyota demonstrate that with the right investment and management, British-built vehicles can be a pleasure to own."
However, the survey revealed a bleak picture of UK car manufacturing, with just two of the top-ten ranked manufacturers being British firms. The two British manufacturers to rank in the top-ten were Jaguar and Mini company.
Japanse cars once again dominated the index, with the Lexus IS ranked top for customer satisfaction, closely followed by the Honda Jazz and Suzuki Liana. Lexus also picked up the 'Most Improved' award.
Meanwhile Lexus topped the manufacturers index for the sixth consecutive year, with Honda finishing in second and Skoda third.
Nevertheless, the survey will come as a welcome boost to the UK car industry, which has suffered over the last year with high profile job losses at TVR and Vauxhall and the closure of Peugeot's Ryton plant.
