Jaguar unveils upgrades for S-Type 2008

Luxury car drivers have been urged to take a second look at the S-Type range after the unveiling of a host of improvements for the 2008 models.

Currently being exhibited at the Bologna International Motor Show, the most instantly noticeable change to the 2008 Jaguar S-Type takes place at the front.

All models in the revamped range will incorporate the stylish bumper and mesh grille that can currently be found on the S-Type R trim, reports Easier.

Moreover, those drivers who want to reduce the stresses involved in parking may be interested to know that the Rear Park Assist product has now become standard on all models.

This device aims to keep the Jaguar car in pristine condition by using ultrasonic sensors in the rear boot to detect unseen obstacles, such as bollards, which the driver is in danger of reversing into - if it detects something, then the driver is alerted by a series of beeps.

Geoff Cousins, UK managing director of Jaguar, said that the revamp should improve the appeal of Jaguar's executive car.

"The S-Type has always been an attractive proposition," he said.

"These specification enhancements offer our customers a real value-for-money proposition - to my mind, there has never been a better time to reappraise the S-Type range."
