Hyundai unveils new Amica

  06/03/2006 17:24:56

Carmaker Hyundai has launched its revamped Amica mini in the UK, with a 1.1-litre petrol engine and a jaunty new look.

The new, restyled version of the company's city car, Hyundai's third best selling car in Europe in 2005, comes with improved performance that means that the Amica offers "more quality and value than ever before".

Hyundai's new Amica features impressive fuel economy, with combined cycle fuel consumption of up to 52.3 mpg, improved equipment specifications, class-leading boot space and a five year, unlimited mileage, fully transferable warranty.

The new model comes in two trim levels, GSI and CDX, with the CDX marked at just £500 more than the GSI version. Mica or metallic paint finish options are also available.

The base GSI model comes with power steering, a split-folding rear seat, driver's airbag, tinted glass, boot light, ABS, front electric windows and a stereo RDS sound system with CD player.

Its CDX specification also features keyless entry, remote central locking, front fog lamps, alloy wheels, air-conditioning and leather trim for the steering wheel and gear knob, body-coloured door mirrors and handles and rear spoiler.

Hyundai's UK managing director, Tony Whitehorn, commented: "As well as having a direct appeal to former Hyundai Amica and Atoz owners, many of whom have requested its return, Amica has the potential to win valuable new customers, too."

Launched on March 1st 2006, the Amica is on sale from Hyundai main dealers across Britain with on-the-road prices starting at £5,995 and a automatic version of the CDX available.
