Hyundai sees orders increase
Since the scrapping scheme was unveiled by the government, Hyundai has revealed enquiries at the company's dealerships are up 400 per cent.The car manufacturer suggests buyers are eagerly trying to ensure they can secure a Hyundai car before stocks run out - or the government funds do.
Tony Whitehorn, Hyundai UK's managing director, claims a few big-name manufacturers are "still prevaricating" about scrappage.
"While they have been scratching their heads and confusing customers, we've been only too happy to show hundreds of potential buyers how a new Hyundai is within their reach," he adds.
Hyundai says it is the i10 and i20 models that are attracting the most attention from prospective buyers.
The new government scheme offers motorists £2,000 towards a new car or van if they scrap a vehicle that is ten years old.
In order to take advantage of this offer, drivers can take their vehicle to any participating car dealership.
