Hyundai i800 named best towcar
Motorists with caravans may be interested to hear the Hyundai i800 has been voted towcar of the year by the Caravan Club.Competing against vehicles costing between £16,000 and £20,000, the model was found to offer good manoeuvrability, with a tight turning circle and excellent visibility.
Judges tested the car on its ability in a range of areas from hill starts to acceleration and braking.
Commenting on the winning vehicle, they stated: "The i800 is a cracking load carrier, shows a lovely attitude when hitched and good access to towing sockets."
Hyundai claimed the model also offers extensive storage space.
It stated there are 851 litres of boot-space, even with eight passengers on board.
The manufacturer also said the i800 was able to perform well with a full load as a result of its 2.5-litre four-cylinder CRDi diesel engine.
Meanwhile, Auto Express magazine has named Hyundai's used car scheme the best in the UK.
