Second-hand car prices 'going up'
People planning on buying a used car while prices are low may want to put their foot down, if new figures are anything to go by.According to statistics in the latest BCA Pulse report, values of second-hand vehicles rose for the fourth consecutive month in February.
Motorists buying such cars in February typically paid £435 more than those making a purchase in January.
Prices are still lower than this time in 2008, but the difference is getting smaller.
The gap between values in January 2009 and those 12 months earlier was £650.
By February this figure had dropped to £282.
Tony Gannon, BCA spokesman, said: "There is now little doubt that used values are making a seasonal but possibly significant recovery from the low points of last year."
As a result, whether people plan to head to a Ford or Fiat dealership for a second-hand vehicle, they may be better doing so sooner rather than later.
