Mondeo named Scotland's car of 2007
Motor industry experts have voted the Ford Mondeo Scottish Car of the Year 2007.Best family car and overall prize were the gongs that the vehicle picked up at the Association of Scottish Motoring Writers show.
The acknowledgement marks the latest in a long line of successes for the firm at the ceremony, as it won the 1998 overall prize for its Ford Focus as well as the Scottish MPV prize for the S-MAX in 2006.
"Winning the family car category further underlines that Ford is hitting the right target markets and I would like to thank the Association of Scottish Motoring Writers for the two awards," said Ford of Europe vice president of communications and public affairs Ian Slater.
Mr Slater added that he was "thrilled" with the result.
Ford's first version of the Mondeo was put onto the market in 1993. It has since become known as a symbol of middle England, with drivers dubbed Mondeo Man.
