Ford unveils adjustable pedals for Focus, C-MAX
Ford has revealed that it has developed adjustable pedals for its Focus and C-MAX models. The pedals are designed to help drivers get more comfortable in their vehicles, as well as enjoy a safer ride, according to the company.
Motorists can electrically move the pedals up to 55mm closer to their seats, which could be particularly helpful in cars that are regularly driven by more than one person, Ford said.
The option to get adjustable pedals is now available on the new Ford Focus and C-MAX, costing £100 to be fitted in the Focus Titanium and C-MAX Style, Zetec and Titanium models.
"For some customers, finding a seating position which is a comfortable distance from both pedals and steering wheel is difficult," commented Thomas Svensson, Ford brake system development engineer.
"With adjustable pedals, drivers can tailor their position precisely and easily using the convenient seat-mounted switch."
Ford saw its vehicle sales increase by 242 units in April, according to recently released figures from the Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders.
