Ford announces new commercial vehicle prices
Ford has announced prices for two of its Ford commercial vehicles, which until the weekend were on display at the British International Motor Show in Docklands. The US manufacturer's Ranger model, which is due to launch in September, has been described as being a "true off-roader combining robustness with comfort and style".
Fitted with an all-new 2.5-litre Duratorq TDCi common-rail fuel injection diesel engine, the Ranger produces 143PS of power and torque of 330Nm at 1,800 rpm.
New Car Net quoted Steve Kimber, commercial vehicles director for Ford of Britain, saying: "Sales of Ranger have more than doubled over the last five years and we are confident that the all-new Ranger will attract even more new customers who will certainly feel the difference from the increased power in the pedal to the sculpted seatbacks."
The Ford Ranger is priced at between £11,650 and £17,450.
Ford is also re-launching the Tourneo Connect, having undergone some fairly dramatic changes.
New Stage IV compliant 1.8-litre Duratorq TDCi engines have been fitted, with the current 90PS engine complemented by a new 110PS engine.
Mr Kimber added: "Ford believes that a light commercial vehicle doesn't have to be dull or basic. So users will be delighted that the interior and exterior of the new Tourneo Connect have been improved, and the vehicle's in-car entertainment has been significantly upgraded."
The Tourneo Connect also features a longer wheelbase, while the LX model is now available in both five and eight seat versions for the first time.
On-the-road prices start from £15,622, rising to £18,388 for optional extras.
