New Mondeo prices announced

Ford dealerships will be stocking the new Ford Mondeo for under £15,000 when it goes on sale in the summer.

Starting from £14,995 for the base-level Edge model, Ford claims its latest Mondeo is the most technologically advanced car it has ever produced, as well as one of the "most elegant".

Those looking for a Ford car dealer will note that there are four trim levels. In addition to the Mondeo Edge, the Zetec and Ghia ranges remain from the old Mondeo, while the Mondeo Titanium X tops the line.

The new Titanium X is designed to emphasise the Mondeo's cutting-edge technology, although even the Edge contains some notable advancements over the existing Mondeo, featuring electronic stability programming, a trip computer and an mp3 connector socket as standard.

All trim levels are intended to reflect different buyers' tastes – the Edge is intended for essential family and business needs, the Zetec has a "contemporary" feel, while the Ghia trim features wood and chrome for a luxurious feel, retailing at £18,445.

As with the current range, the all-new Mondeo will be available at a local Ford dealership from launch in four-door, five-door and estate formats.

The original Mondeo was released in the UK in 1993 to replace the venerable Sierra range in the large family car sector.
