Ford Mondeo prepares for launch

The Ford Mondeo is set to expand its popularity this month as a revamped version of the nation's large car bestseller hits the forecourts.

Boasting a new design featuring hi-tech traits and a sleek look, the new Ford Mondeo is expected to be very popular among UK car buyers.

Up until the end of May 2007, nearly 22,000 Britons have already bought a Ford Mondeo, according to the Society of Motor Manufacturers, and Ford believes sales figures will continue to grow throughout the rest of 2007.

Chairman and managing director of Ford of Britain Roelant de Waard said that with the manufacturer's flagship Modeo ready for launch, it is "confident" the next few months will be positive for the firm.

"We are confident that the second half of the year will be really exciting – for ourselves, dealers and customers who are already filling up our order book," he said.

Last month, the Ford Mondeo was awarded the Allergy Tested Interior seal of approval by the German TUV Rhineland group.

It is the fifth Ford vehicle to pass the "stringent" standards for allergy-friendly cars, it said.
