Ford Mondeo 2007 stars alongside 007
Buyers of the new Ford Mondeo will get to drive the same vehicle as super-spy James Bond himself, it has been announced.A specially-built five-door 2007 Mondeo is set to feature as James Bond's car in the film Casino Royale, which enters cinemas on November 17th 2007.
Set for its official launch in the UK next year, would-be 007 imitators may also be interested to know that the car features a sports bodykit and tonic-blue paintwork.
Martin Smith, executive director for design at Ford of Europe, said that he believed the car's debut on the silver screen would draw film-lovers to the marquee.
"We wanted the property to be fully representative of a top-of-the-range new Mondeo," said Mr Smith.
"On the big screen, the new Mondeo looks impressive and eye-catching, and we're convinced this appearance - although brief - will stimulate early customer interest in the new model."
Meanwhile, a visitor poll conducted by automotive website 4car has revealed the nation's favourite car chase sequence in the James Bond series.
The yellow Citroen 2CV featured in For Your Eyes Only in 1981 came first with almost a quarter of the vote, followed by the Aston Martin DB5 that was driven in Goldfinger and the T-55 tank from Goldeneye.
