Ford Galaxy in five-star safety showing
The new Ford Galaxy has passed its latest safety tests with flying colours by achieving the maximum five-star rating in the Euro New Car Assessment Programme (NCAP) crash test.Incorporating some of the latest in car safety technologies, including a driver's knee airbag, side-mounted thorax airbags, optimised pre-tensioners and load limiters, the new Galaxy offers a comprehensive safety package in both left and right-hand drive variants.
The Galaxy is not the first Ford to get top marks in the Euro NCAP adult occupancy protection tests; the popular family car joins the Focus and the S-Max in doing so.
Gisbert Gab, Ford's European vehicle safety manager, said: "Our target was to ensure that the same high level of protection would be available to occupants of vehicles in both configurations and as this five-star result confirms, we have succeeded."
"The Galaxy result is in fact the best score for any right-hand-drive vehicle tested by Euro NCAP to date," he added.
NCAP was established in 1997 and aims to provide motoring consumers with independent safety reviews on some of Europe's most widely driven cars.
