Ford debuts Focus ECOnetic
Ford's new Focus ECOnetic has made its debut at the Sexy Green Car Show at the Eden Project.The car has CO2 emissions of 114g/km, which is equivalent to about 65.6mpg, and starts at £16,050.
Other green vehicles set to be launched by Ford include the Ford Mondeo ECOnetic, which arrives in July, and the Ford Fiesta ECOnetic, which will go on sale early next year.
The Focus ECOnetic fits into the range between the Studio/Style and Zetec/Titanium models.
"Drivers want to be green but without giving up comfort and performance or paying a high price. ECOnetic answers that demand," remarked Roelant de Waard, chairman and managing director at Ford of Britain.
Ford has also launched a smart driving challenge in conjunction with the Energy Saving Trust to root out the UK's most eco-friendly driver.
The contest will take place via six regional heats, with the winner of each heat receiving a 1.6-litre Ford Focus ECOnetic on loan.
