Focus wins award for second time in three years
The Ford Focus has been named What Car? used car of the year for the second time in three years.Judges chose the 1.6 Zetec Climate model - a good three-year-old example of which they said could be bought for approximately £5,000.
Commenting on the winning vehicle, Steve Fowler, editor of What Car?, said: "It's all the car you'll ever need."
He stated: "The Focus stands out as amazing value for a quality car that's great to drive, reliable, safe, spacious and cheap to run."
Mr Fowler claimed the current economic conditions meant it was a great time to pick up a used car.
Dealers are desperate to shift stock and prices are getting lower all the time, he explained.
The announcement of the Focus's victory comes after Ford announced its new Fiesta is due to go on sale next month.
According to the manufacturer, the launch will be backed by its most ambitious campaign ever.
