New Ford Fiesta Scottish car of the year
The new Ford Fiesta has been named as the Scottish car of the year for 2008 at the 11th annual Association of Scottish Motoring Writers (ASMW) in St Andrew's.A panel of 17 journalists reviewed every new car available and listed eight category winners.
During a ceremony, the Fiesta won the overall accolade after being judged on a range of criteria, including value for money, dynamic driving and style.
ASMW president Bill Craven states taking first place is a marvellous achievement for the manufacturer.
He also notes this is the second consecutive year the company has taken home the first prize, as the Mondeo won the accolade in 2007.
"The all-new Ford Fiesta was simply streets ahead of everybody else when it came to offering something fresh, dynamic and value for money. Within hours of getting our first drive in the car we were all blown away by the experience," he adds.
Ford has also announced the price of the all-new Ka, which will be available from £7,995.
