New Fiesta goes on sale
The new Ford Fiesta goes on sale in the UK today following a tango extravaganza to celebrate its launch in London yesterday.Staged at the Tower of London, the event saw stunt drivers perform a unique car version of the dance in two of the first of the updated models to arrive on British soil.
Among the crowds present was cricketer and former Strictly Come Dancing champion Mark Ramprakash, along with tango troupes from across the capital.
Commenting on the new model, Roeland de Waard, chairman and managing director of Ford in the UK, said: "We created the new Fiesta with a real passion and we're confident it's the car the nation is about to fall in love with."
He added, the company could not think of a more fitting way to mark its launch than performing the dance of love – the tango.
It has been a good year for Ford in more than one respect, as the manufacturer received prizes in the What Car? used car honours for both the Focus and Mondeo.
